BedSlides are reinforced retractable truck bed extensions that allow you to reach that toolbox or grocery bag from the depths of your truck bed. Available in a variety of sizes, weight capacities, and customizable, Scatt Recreation has what you’re looking for.

The Standard BedSlide is rated at up to 1200 pounds evenly distributed. The XL is rated at 1000 pounds. The side rails are 1 ½” tall with ½” holes punched every 12 – 18 inches for the purpose of tying down your load. Some people use these side rails as support for their own customized taller sides. The BedSlide is hand built, welded steel construction. The decking is a ¾” exterior grade plywood covered with a synthetic indoor/outdoor gray carpet. The optional WeatherDeck is a spray-on bedliner material that offers additional weather resistant protection.

With the standard method of installation, removal of the entire unit takes two people less than a minute! It can be used with most BedRugs and bed liners. Most BedSlide dimensions have taken into account the space needed for a liners. If in doubt, measure your truck bed between the wheel wells and from the front to the tailgate. How tall is the BedSlide and how much room will I lose in my truck bed?

Can I install a BedSlide over a bedliner, carpet kit, BedRug, or spray-in liner?
Yes, most BedSlide dimensions have taken into account the space needed for a liners. If in doubt, measure your truck bed between the wheel wells and from the front to the tailgate. Compare this to our actual BedSlide dimensions and find the best fit for your truck.

How far does the BedSlide extend out my truck?
This varies between vehicles, but it’s about 80%. There is 16” that does not extend past the end of the BedSlide frame. The average sized adult can easily stand beside the tailgate and retrieve their cargo.

Can I remove the BedSlide easily once installed?
Yes, with the standard method of installation, removal of the entire BedSlide takes two people less than a minute!

What is the BedSlide constructed of?

What kind of bearings do you use?
The Standard BedSlide has 4 sealed roller bearings. They each have a static rolling weight capacity of 1070 pounds. However, they have virtually no impact resistance. If you have a bad bearing, your BedSlide won’t roll very smooth. It most likely was damaged in shipping. This is an easy fix. Give us a call and we will send you a replacement bearing that can be replaced in minutes. The XL for Avalanche / Escalade EXT has 16 smaller bearings including side-thrust bearings for easy use on any incline.

How much weight will the BedSlide hold?

I have a longbox pickup that I frequently put substantial weight on. My BedSlide “bows” in the middle making it difficult sometimes to roll in and out. Is there anything I can do to improve this?
Yes. We have pre-punched holes in the center cross member of the base frame to allow those customers the option of bolting this to the pickup bed. This will greatly reduce the amount of “flexing” that occurs, particularly on longbox trucks.

Do you build BedSlides for other vehicles like vans, utility boxes or cargo trailers?
Yes we do. In fact, these applications are becoming more and more popular. Work vans are an easy application. Find the size that best fits your van. If we need to make minimal size adjustments, please call for pricing. For $10, we can provide you a mounting bracket that would bolt to your floor. The BedSlide can then be installed just like a truck and be removable in less than a minute. If portability is not a concern, just bolt it to the floor.

Can I customize my BedSlide once I get it?
Absolutely! This is one of the benefits of our product. By using a ¾” plywood decking material, the customer has the option of attaching tool boxes, racks, bike mounts, scuba tank holders, bins, ….etc. We have seen some pretty amazing custom applications. If you have a special application, take a picture and send it to us. With your permission, we may put it on our website to give others another great idea.

Can you build me a custom size?
Give us a call. Most likely we can build you the BedSlide that fits your specific needs and dimensions. Generally, any width between 36” and 48” can be easily modified without additional costs. Length changes can be done at a minimal cost.

What happens if I have troubles with my BedSlide?
We certainly hope this doesn’t occur, but we aren’t perfect. So if you should have any problems, please just give us a call. We are committed to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the BedSlide! We’ll do just about anything (within reason) to make sure you leave happy!
